Chris Hamilton to replace Callum Scotson at Zurich 2024 UCI Road World Championships

Sep 19, 2024

Chris Hamilton has been selected to race the 2024 UCI Road World Championships for the ARA Australian Cycling Team after Callum Scotson withdrew due to illness.

Scotson recently contracted COVID and withdrew himself from Zurich 2024 this week.

After being notified of Scotson's withdrawal, AusCycling's National Selection Panel has named Hamilton as his replacement.

The selection sets Hamilton for a Road Worlds appearance and his first in four years after last donning the green-and-gold at Imola 2020.

The 29-year-old finished the Vuelta a España earlier this month and featured in two breakaways on stages 11 and 18.

Hamilton will race as part of the elite men's road race team on September 29.
