Australia’s cyclists have completed Glasgow 2026 with the most track cycling medals in its Commonwealth Games history.
A record haul of 10 gold, 10 silver and 8 bronze in track cycling and Para track cycling – 28 in total – surpasses the 20 medals Australia won in 2014, when the Games were, fittingly, also held in Glasgow.
Only the 2010 edition has seen Australia win more gold medals in track cycling:12 were won in New Delhi that year.
The 2026 Commonwealth Games in Glasgow saw the cycling program reduced to just track cycling and Para track cycling, with road cycling and mountain bike events not held.
South Australian sprinter Leigh Hoffman led Australia's charge with three gold medals and a silver, including his contribution to victory in the men’s team sprint. He is the first Australian cyclist to win four medals at the one Games.

Tasmania’s Georgia Baker won her fourth and fifth Commonwealth gold medals in the team pursuit and scratch race, joining Anna Meares, Brad McGee and Matthew Glaetzer with the most career golds. Baker was also awarded the honour of being Australia’s flag bearer at the Commonwealth Games closing ceremony.
Para cyclist Tara Neyland, from Melbourne, set two world records en route to collecting her dual gold medals in the Women’s C4−C5 events.
Alyssa Polites was also a double gold medallist, taking home an individual victory in the elimination race along with gold in the team pursuit.

The team’s oldest medal winner was Brisbane’s Jacqui Mengler-Mohr, age 47, who piloted Jess Gallagher to a pair of silver medals in the Women’s Tandem B events.
The youngest medal winner was 20-year-old Tayte Ryan, who won a pair of bronze medals in the men’s sprint events.
Many of Australia's cycling athletes will next compete on the world stage at the UCI Track World Championships and UCI Para Cycling Track World Championships in October.
