Glasgow Daily - August 7
Aug 7, 2023
We have a new world champion! Amanda Reid has won Australia's first rainbow jersey of 2023, setting a new world record on the way to taking her fifth title in the C2 500m TT.
Jessica Gallagher & Caitlin Ward took home another silver medal, this time in the Sprint, while Erin Rowell's bronze in the C4 500m TT rounded out a great day for Australia on the boards.
On the road, 23-year-old Matthew Dinham announced himself on the world stage with 7th place in the elite men’s road race. It was a remarkable performance from the breakaway, matching it with the sport's biggest superstars after getting the late call-up into the team.
At a rain-delayed BMX Freestyle competition, Logan Martin looks in great touch, qualifying first for tomorrow's men's final, with Josh Matthews also through in 22nd.
Finally, down at Glentress Forest, Tali Lane Walsh and Joel Green finished 47th and 59th in the Cross-Country Marathon, a solid outing in their first Worlds.
