The ARA Australian Cycling Team has completed its 2026 UCI Junior Track World Championships campaign overnight following five days of racing in Belgium.
Megan Moore's bronze medal in the women's individual pursuit on day four was the sole medal won by Australia at Sport Vlaanderen Heusden-Zolder Velodrome.
The 17-year-old Balmoral Cycling Club product set a new junior national record of 3 minutes and 31.572 seconds en route to the bronze medal final.
Moore backed up her record-breaking morning with a winning time of 3:32.638 in the battle for bronze to earn a cherished spot on the Junior Track Worlds podium.
The men's team pursuit quintet travelled to Limburg full of hope for a big result but narrowly fell short of a chance to ride for medals.
Oliver Ward, Jack Sloan, Alistair Forsyth, Lachlan Walters and Will Brown settled for fifth on the second day of racing, setting a time of 3:58.847 in the first round after 4:00.818 in qualifying on the opening day.
Also in action on the opening day were our team sprint squads, who posted final results of fifth (women - Emily Watch, April Kat and Paige Squire) and sixth (men - Angus Withington, Mitchell Stephens and Luca Pyatt).
Three further top-10 results were achieved in bunch races.
Women's Madison pairing Elsie Apps and Sienna Monteith finished eighth, while the men's Madison duo of Brown and Ward closed out their week in ninth.
Apps also ticked off an eighth in the scratch race.
