Oliver Davis has led the Australian results in elite downhill at the 2026 UCI Mountain Bike World Championships, placing 10th in the final in Italy on Sunday morning (AEST).
The 22-year-old Victorian covered the Val di Sole course in a time of 3:33.736, earning some time in the race leader's hot seat before seeing his result eclipsed by eventual silver medallist Lachlan Stevens McNab (NZL).
It's Davis's second World Championship top-10 result affter placing eighth in Andorra in 2024. Today's result confirms the Albury-Wodonga rider's abilities at the top level in the green-and-gold of the ARA Australian Cycling Team.
Jindabyne rider Jackson Connelly also posted a strong result, finishing 13th overall.

Bad luck ended the competition for veteran Troy Brosnan, whose chain dropped in the start house; and four-time national champion Luke Meier-Smith, who suffered a front flat early in his run.
The the elite women's competition, young Aussies Elleni Turkovic (18) and Sacha Mills (20) continued to show their promise at this level, finishing 16th and 22nd respectively.
Earlier in the day, the ARA Australian Cycling Team celebrated a new world champion when Tilly Boadle won the junior women's competition.
Elleni Turkovic finished 16th on her elite debut at a World Championships.
