Three riders will represent the ARA Australian Cycling Team at the 2026 UCI Mountain Bike Marathon World Championships in Italy.
The squad, announced today by the AusCycling National Selection Panel, will compete in Primiero San Martino di Castrozza, Italy on September 12.
Elite men’s national champion James Kelly returns for his second World Championships after making his debut last year in Switzerland.
Joining Kelly will be multi-discipline rider Tasman Nankervis, who is no stranger to competing at the international level.
The Bendigo rider represented Australia in XCO as an under-23 rider, but this September’s event will be his first elite cap at a UCI World Championships.
Rounding out the team is West Australian Hayden James, who will make his debut appearance in the green and gold.
Joel Green was also selected, but withdrew from the team.
The Selection Panel did not receive any expressions of interest for the elite women’s event.
