ARA Australian Cycling Team junior XCO squad selected for 2025 UCI MTB World Championships
Jul 2, 2025

AusCycling has confirmed the selection of three junior cross-country Olympic (XCO) athletes to represent the ARA Australian Cycling Team at the 2025 UCI Mountain Bike World Championships in Valais, Switzerland
The squad, announced by the AusCycling National Selection Panel, includes one male and two female riders—each set to make their World Championships debut on the global stage.
Connor Wright will don the green and gold after a standout European campaign this season.
The West Australian based rider claimed victory at the Bike the Rock race in Germany, before securing a podium finish at the UCI Junior World Series appearance at Nove Mesto.
Earlier in the year, Wright underlined his domestic dominance with a commanding ride to win the Junior National Championship title at Mt Buller and the Oceania Championships in New Zealand.
Joining him in the junior women’s category are Amelie Burrell and Ruby Taylor.
Burrell enters the championships as the reigning national champion, while Taylor—who hails from Melbourne brings strong form, having earned silver at the National Championships and a fourth-place finish at the Oceania Championships in Queenstown.
All three riders recently gained valuable international experience as part of the U19 European Development camp, which saw them compete in Austria, Germany, and the Czech Republic earlier this year.
The junior XC competition for the 2025 UCI World Championships is scheduled for September 12 in Valais, Switzerland.
