An ARA Australian Cycling Team of eight will race at the opening two rounds of the 2026 UCI BMX Racing World Cup in Sarrians, France next weekend.
Sarrians opens the World Cup season for the second straight year on Saturday, June 6 and Sunday, June 8.
The series then travels to Papendal, Netherlands on the following weekend for rounds three and four before the BMX racing world travels to Brisbane in July for the 2026 UCI BMX Racing World Championships.
Reigning three-time World Cup champion and Olympic gold medallist Saya Sakakibara continues her build towards a home world championships by contesting both of the upcoming World Cup weekends.
The 26-year-old started her season in the United States with a win in Carolina and then returned home to successfully defend the elite women's national title at the 2026 GWM BMX Racing National Championships in Shepparton.
Standing alongside Sakakibara as the elite men's national champion for the first time was 23-year-old Jesse Asmus, who has shown incredible speed and confidence through the early months of 2026.
The Gold Coast talent was on fire at Brisbane SX in February, winning the Oceania crown and opening National Series round undefeated over both days.
Sarrians will be Asmus' first taste of World Cup racing in the elite class.
