ARA Australian Cycling Team selected for UCI Enduro and E Enduro World Championships
Sep 5, 2024
Ten riders have been selected to represent the ARA Australian Cycling Team at the 2024 UCI Enduro & E Enduro World Championships in Trentino, Italy.
The AusCycling National Selection Panel today announced the team which will race for the rainbow jersey on September 14.
Current U21 UCI Enduro World Cup overall leader Bailey Christie (WA) headlines the team for Val de Fassa.
With three wins and a podium from five rounds, including victory at the last stop in Finale Outdoor Region, the West Australian has been nothing short of a revelation in the Enduro format this season.
Christie is joined by Jarrah Street (VIC), and Sascha Kim (TAS) who has also featured on the U21 podium three times in 2024.
Luke Meier-Smith (NSW) recently competed at the MTB World Championships in Andorra and earned his selection after a second-place finish at Haute-Savoie in the French Alps earlier this year.
Daniel Booker (TAS), Duncan Ledger (ACT) and Thomas Locke (NSW) complete Australia’s Enduro selection.
Three men will contest the E Enduro World Championships.
Ryan Gilchrist (NSW) has stamped his credentials as one of the rainbow jersey favorites in the category.
Having secured podium finishes in four of the five races in 2024 including two wins, the Yeti/ Fox Factory Race Team rider leads the overall E Enduro rankings.
Gilchrist will be joined by Micheal Hannah (QLD) – 12th overall in the standing and Joshua Carlson (NSW), who was awarded a wildcard.
