Eight Australian riders will represent the ARA Australian Cycling Team at the 2026 UCI Enduro World Championships in Finale Ligure, Italy in October.
The squad, announced today by the AusCycling National Selection Panel, features a mix of exciting emerging and developing Australian talents who will race for the rainbow jersey on October 16-18.
Leading the squad is 2023 enduro national champion Ryan Gilchrist who has been selected of the back of hot form this season.
The 24-year-old captured his maiden UCI Enduro World Cup victory in July marking his breakthrough at the world level.
He has proven results at the top level also having won the UCI E-Enduro World Series crown in 2024.
Four-time Downhill national champion Luke Meier-Smith has also been selected alongside Gilchrist having produced consistent top-10 results on the UCI Downhill World Cup circuit this year.
The 24-year-old has also delivered exceptional enduro results in the past having been crowned 2024 National and Oceania Enduro champion. He also won a round of the UCI Enduro World Cup in 2023.
Tom Locke and Jarrah Street return to the squad, alongside 2025 Enduro National Champion Andrew Hacquoil whose selection is conditional on medical clearance by September 25.
Reigning National and Oceania Enduro women’s champion Zana Evans rounds out the squad having been selected for her maiden world championships.

No further expressions of interest were received by the Selection Panel for the Women Elite category, and none were received for the E-Enduro events.
The elite squad joins Harper Nelmes and Lincoln Read, whose selection for the junior event was announced last month.
The 2026 UCI Enduro & E-Enduro World Championships will be held in Finale Ligure, Italy, from October 16–18.
